Dear Parents,
We had a very successful first day in fourth grade! I am beyond excited for the year to come and to get to know all of the students. Today, we reviewed classroom and school procedures as well as activities to get to know eachother as a class. I am thrilled to have a big class of readers! We took a break today to have snack and read and it was such a joy to watch the kids be so enthralled in their books. My goal for the first week is to form a strong community for the students. It's really important to me that they get to know their classmates and make new friends to be able to set that foundation for learning. Every day this week we will be doing a "lunch challenge" where I challenge each student to learn new things about the classmates they sit with at lunch. For the remainder of the week we will be working on creating our "Hopes and Dreams" and our class rules. We are starting our first math unit on Patterns tomorrow (Wednesday) with a pre-assessment to see what your child knows! I look forward to working together as partners in your child's learning. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns during this first week. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ms. Diapoulis
