About the Teacher
Hello! My name is Stacey Diapoulis and I am thrilled to be your child's fourth grade AAP teacher! I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching at James Madison University in 2014 with minors in Elementary Education and Special Education Non-Teaching. I previously student taught at CWES in 4th grade AAP and third grade. I have had a wide range of experiences in various classrooms including grades kindergarten through sixth!
In my classroom, I believe that each individual child is unique and special. Each child in my class possesses unique abilities, strengths and talents, as well as areas of weakness. Everyone has a different way of understanding and looking at the world, including myself. I hope to establish a learning environment where children's needs are met and they are safe and secure. In my philosophy, the heart of teaching and learning is a caring, respectful and trusting relationship between the teacher and individual students. I have learned that children learn best when YOU (parents, families, guardians, etc.) are involved in their education. If we work together to promote learning and achievement, I guarantee we will see wonderful things. I truly believe that learning is a social experience and children will be constantly working together in my classroom. In my classroom, we are not only "hands-on" but "minds-on." I want my students to become leaders in their education and choose their own path of learning--one that fits them and allows them to excel to their highest potential.
Furthermore, I believe in maintaining a high level of engagement in my classroom at all times. One way to do this is through the use of technology! Your children are growing up in a society where technology is constantly changing. Therefore, it is only appropriate that we transition into a curriculum that uses our technological resources to allow students to become lifelong learners. I will be using technology on a regular basis in my classroom especially as a communication tool. Technology is also a wonderful tool for differentiation to meet the needs of each of your students. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you this year to continue learning and growing with your student in fourth grade!
